Raven’s Innocence~Teaser Tuesday!

Now, my head is flooded with so much thought and emotion about what has happened tonight. I didn’t expect such a turn of events. I don’t know what I was expecting really, but it wasn’t any of that. Both of us admitting how much we liked each other…I did hope for that, actually. He called me Sweetheart, just the thought of it makes me grin. He told me he wanted to have me for dessert, then he did have me for dessert. The intimacy. The spanking, which I totally liked, by the way. The gentleness of his kiss afterwards. But then there’s the one thing that he said that I keep playing over and over again in my head, “But you might lose your innocence somewhere along the way.”

What in the hell does that mean? One minute he can’t keep his hands off of me, and the next, he tells me that if I get to know the real him, I’ll be running away scared. Running away scared? Okay, so that’s two things he has said tonight that will haunt me for a while…

Audio books – I love them!

Audio books, I love them!

I love to sit back and enjoy a great book, but there are times when audio books come in handy.

I love audio books!  First of all, I can multitask.  Yes, I find myself doing things around my home while listening to an audio book.  I can cook, bake, garden, etc. while enjoying the words of my favorite authors. I feel total disconnected from the world around me once those headsets come on.

Secondly, some books are just amazing to listen to.  I admit I have read and reread Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture by Sylvain Reynard many times, but the audio versions are amazing.  There is something about listening to the intonation and the emotions of the characters as the book is being read to you.  The characters come alive.

Just beyond her reach ~

Flower in Heaven

Beautifully entwined
In the elegance that surrounds her
Her breath heats the drops of dew
As they trickle down the stem of the flower that is held by her fingertips
Light glistens in her eyes
Pearl and ivory shades of silk dance across her skin
Her beautiful mind wanders
Lost in her thoughts of innocence and purity
Her soul yearns for an escape
As it is drawn to the soft glow of the heavens that is just beyond her reach

Sleeping Beauty

She is sleeping

Her breathing is shallow. Her chest rises and falls. He counts the seconds and studies her for signs of waking.

There are none.

He says her name. Softly.

Again. A little louder. But still quietly. He does not really want her to stir.

He gently takes her hand in his. It is small, and soft, and cool. Her fingers lie over his. They are quiet and still. His thumb and forefinger circle her wrist. He can feel her pulse. He imagines it quickening, but he cannot be sure. He lowers her hand to the bed.

She is beautiful. Her hair is raven black against her pale skin. Her lips are perfectly formed and ruby-red. She is wearing a pure white dress that is fitted at the breast, tight at the waist, and clinging to her hips. There is a long line of small pearl buttons from the scooped collar to bottom…
