Finally!!!!! Raven’s Innocence is about to launch! This Friday, June 27^th, you will be able to purchase Raven’s Innocence in paperback or download to your Kindle. I am so very excited, I can hardly stand it. With that being said, let’s back up to the previous weekend, shall we?

Saturday afternoon I was on the phone with my editor, while she helped walk me through the steps of formatting and preparing my manuscript for upload to Create Space. I told her that I was in no way proficient in Microsoft word and I would have been better off if I could have typed this in an Excel document. Her response to me was “Well, you will be after this!” Three hours later, a few freak-outs, and yes even a couple of tears out of pure frustration; I became extremely proficient in Microsoft Word. I also had a beautifully formatted manuscript ready to be uploaded to Create Space. I do believe my editor’s exact words to me were this, “There’s your book baby.” In that moment, I squealed in delight and decided that I needed a drink!

Sunday afternoon, I was ready to tackle the formatting for KDP. I was preparing myself for meltdown number four, or five…I’m not sure, I was losing count by this point…..When I opened up my document to start this grueling process over, I quickly realized that my manuscript was already half way ready for KDP because of the formatting that took place the day before. I only had to change a few minor details and within minutes, my manuscript was ready for upload to KDP. I was thrilled! By this point, things were becoming Easy Peasy.

Sunday night I went on ahead and uploaded everything to Create Space, and by Monday morning, they had emailed me telling me my manuscript had been approved for printing. Monday night I uploaded my manuscript to KDP.

From the first moment I sat down to write, September 28^th, 2013 to the day I finally had everything completed and uploaded, which was on June 23^rd, this process took me approximately 9 months from start to finish. My book initially took me 6 months to write. The next three were spent on editing and designing of the book. What a process this has been and I have learned so much from this experience. I had no idea what I was signing on for when I started this.

So again, this Friday, June 27^th, Raven’s Innocence will finally be available! I have worked so hard on this, and so has my editor, and another author who helped me with my writing, my proofer, and my graphic designer, and then those that were doing all they could to support me…..I have been working with an incredible team of people. I am so very grateful for everyone’s support!

Once Raven’s Innocence is launched, I will start writing Raven’s Undoing. But this next time around, I am prepared for what is to come. One thing I know for sure is that writing the story is the easy part.

I have been getting asked by many people when Raven’s Innocence will be released and all I know for sure is that we are trying to have it launched in the next couple of weeks, before the end of this month.  This process is taking a little longer than anticipated, but as I discussed in my previous blog entry, I am okay with that.

Thank you everyone for your support and also for your patience.  I will keep you up to date as all of this unfolds.  Currently I am doing my final read through to make sure it is exactly how I want it to be before uploading it for launch.  I am getting so very excited! And, I am truly hoping that all of you find Raven’s Innocence to be a sultry summer read.
